About Me
I trained at the prestigious London School of Sports Massage, where I qualified with a Level 5 Professional Diploma in Sports Massage and Soft Tissue Therapy. In addition, I have an honours degree in Human Movement Studies, which I obtained from Leeds Beckett University. I am fully insured and qualified in first aid. In 2018 I provided sports massage at the London Marathon where I worked for the 'charity of the year': The Teenage Cancer Trust. I was the sports massage therapist for Ventnor RFC for the 2018/19 season, providing match day support as well as injury treatment, massage and taping. I am volunteer crew for the RNLI Bembridge Lifeboat.
I have representative honours in rugby, hockey and athletics. More recently I have taken up golf, and was selected for the Island Games in Gotland, Sweden in 2017 where the Isle of Wight Ladies team won silver. I have also represented Hampshire.
For a number of years I worked in sport, I was National Women's Development officer at English Basketball. I was Development Manager for Sport England, working with national governing bodies to create their sport development strategies. I later moved away from development and worked in sports events. I was Major Events Consultant for UK Sport, assisting governing bodies to secure World and European championships to be staged in the UK - putting together their bids to the International Federations and to secure lottery funds, and once secured, sitting on the event management boards.
I was born in Bembridge on the Isle of Wight, but left the island to study at university and then to work. I have lived in Leeds, London and the French Alps, before returning to the Island in 2010. I am passionate about using my massage skills and techniques to help, not just sports people, but anybody with aches, pains and niggling muscular injuries.
